Go Local, Go Green, Go Bradley Stoke!
A local group is urging residents of Bradley Stoke to think locally when shopping for goods and services.
The Bradley Stoke Small Business Forum (BSSBF) was formed in 2007 with the help of Bradley Stoke Matters. The Forum not only wants to support local business people and opportunities in the Town, but also help residents to reduce their carbon footprint.
The group wish to make residents aware that within their Town and on their own doorstep are trades people and providers of services for every need, from Plumbers to Express Couriers and Financial Planners to advisors that can help you write a Will, and a lot more beside!
‘Using local Small Businesses can be the most eco-friendly way to shop.’ said Forum Chair Nick Wood. ‘Not only do you cut down on transport costs and pollution but many small businesses are run by sole traders working from home, which again saves transport and energy costs.’
The Forum have a busy year of events ahead and hope to persuade the Town Council and other community groups to take a lead in purchasing goods and services locally thus:
- Improving the economy of Bradley Stoke
- Promoting the Town
- Reducing emissions and costs to the environment
To find out more visit the Forum’s website at www.bssbf.org the site contains an A to Z listing of members and services. Alternatively Nick can be contacted at nick4info@yahoo.co.uk
